These are the figures estimated for this installation, not metered results. What a household actually saves depends on its electricity tariff and how much of the day it is using power.

A large family home with a SolarEdge array and a 9.5kW GivEnergy battery, set up so every panel is monitored on its own and the battery can be tracked through the day.

This large family home now runs on a fully optimised SolarEdge array with battery storage from a 9.5kW GivEnergy unit. The twist in the design is that the storage is AC-coupled to a conventional inverter rather than sitting behind a hybrid one.

That approach has two advantages. It keeps optimisers in play, so each panel is managed on its own instead of the weakest module setting the pace for a whole string. And it is a practical route to adding storage where an array is already installed on the Feed-in Tariff scheme and the existing arrangement is best left undisturbed.

The system offers full monitoring at panel level, and the GivEnergy cloud gives the household a clear view of what the battery is doing through the day — one of the parts of the setup our customers tend to use most.

The array generates around 3,819 kWh a year and saves around £975, with a lifetime saving of around £24,400.
